Thanks to everyone who came down for the Tapestry: Fabulous at 30! event and helped celebrate 30 years of Tapestry. There was birthday cake, card making, the Bizarre Bazaar and of course lots and lots of dancing! There was a Contra Dance featuring Pat O'Loughlin, Patrice Pakiz, and Tim Reese with caller Beau Farmer and a young caller in training joined in on the fun too! Dancers enjoyed sampler "join-in" sessions including Bollywood, English Country, Scandinavian, Roma (Gypsy) and International dance in the small studio. All in all, it was a fun event for all. Thanks for celebrating our 30 year history with us! Here's to another 30 years of dancing.

It is the dream of every non-profit organization to own its own building. For folk dance groups, the idea of a building with free span space, a sprung hardwood floor, a stage for the band and a place for dancers to congregate is even grander. In September 1999, this dream came true for Tapestry Folkdance Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota, just short of 16 years after the organization’s birth. The building is all that we ever dreamed and has pulled together the dance community in ways never before imagined.
